Facility : Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain & Stroke Center Unit : 9 Reynolds Tower (Med / Surg / Telemetry), 25 beds, average census 21 patients / day Assignment Start Date : August 25, 2025 Assignment End Date : November 22, 2025 Contract Length : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour day shifts (6 : 30 AM start), 36 hours / week guaranteed Estimated Weekly Pay : $1470–$1570 / week Employment Type : Travel RN Scrub Color : Royal Blue Parking : Free on-site parking Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience with Epic EMR preferred Proficient in wound care, chest tubes, tracheostomies, surgical drains, PCA, NGT, and cardiac drips Strong teamwork and communication skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care to diverse populations including multi-trauma, TBI, post-surgical, and telemetry patients Manage patient ratios of 1 : 5-6 (acuity dependent) Perform wound care, manage chest tubes, trachs, surgical drains, and administer medications (including ketamine and heparin drips) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team : CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and trauma service / residents Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing professional development Promote a positive, teamwork-oriented nursing unit culture Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel Med / Surg RN in Winston-Salem, NC, and take the next step in your nursing career!
