Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Shift : 12 Hour Nights

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 6 / 2025 – End : 1 / 3 / 2026)

Number of Positions : 2

Call : 2 call shifts every 6 weeks

Average Deliveries : 700-800 per year

Patient Ratios : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, acuity dependent

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Kentucky or compact state (required)

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (required)

Strong L&D and LDRP experience preferred

ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire)

AWHONN certification preferred

Ability to circulate during deliveries

EKG exam required

Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred

Recent OB, ED, or critical care nursing experience preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns

Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

Administer medications and interventions safely and accurately

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes

Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care

Support breastfeeding and discharge planning

Perform electronic fetal monitoring and vaginal exams

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Model cultural sensitivity and inclusion in patient care

Respond effectively in emergency situations
