Utility Person - Press Fretting Rotation

Job Summary :

This individual will initially be assigned to the Neck Assembly Department and primarily responsible for preparing and fretting fingerboards according to established quality specifications and operating procedures. It is also intended that in time the individual will be cross trained in neck prep, neck fingerboard glue-up and nut installation. Other secondary jobs may include installing side dots / nuts, filling under fret ends, gluing assembly parts, sawing, use of chisels, cutting, sanding, cleaning, etc.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Prepare fingerboards for fret installation (includes swing sanding fret surface, inspecting and replacing all defective pearl inlay dots / materials).
  • Install frets into fingerboard fret slots.
  • Trim and bevel fret ends.
  • Fill under fret ends.
  • Ukulele nut and fret installation
  • Clean fingerboards using files and sandpapers.
  • Additional tasks may include sawing, cutting, sanding, and cleaning.

Additional Job Requirements :

  • Individual must be flexible to cross train within the entire department and any other areas of our Company.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to interact effectively and respectfully with coworkers.
  • Individual must be able to work in a team atmosphere and work responsibly without extensive supervision.
  • Sufficient reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills are required to follow Training Instructions and Model Specifications.
  • Frequent lifting of various guitar parts under 5 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent standing with occasional sitting throughout a normal workday
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Safety glasses must be worn in designated areas.
  • Work Hours : 1st shift - 5 : 45a.m. - 2 : 15p.m. or 5 : 45a.m. - 3 : 15p.m. Monday through Friday

    Production demands may necessitate overtime Monday through Thursday.

    A condition of employment is that all candidates are required to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
