Caregiver - Medical Group Home

Position Overview (This is position with the family not with Atigro) We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregiver to provide in-home support for an elderly woman who is ambulatory but requires the use of a walker for longer distances. The caregiver may assist in minor ways but we are primarily seeking out someone can reliably assist with or perform an ostomy bag change and perhaps can be on call for some parts of the. day.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care

Assist with changing and maintaining ostomy bags.

Provide assistance with dressing, grooming, and bathing as needed.

Offer mobility support, including safe use of a walker.

Health & Wellness

Provide medication reminders (no administration of injections or controlled substances).

Monitor general well-being and promptly report concerns to family or healthcare providers.

Household

Light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, kitchen cleanup).

Meal planning and preparation based on dietary preferences.

Grocery shopping and running errands as needed.

Transportation &

Drive to medical appointments, shopping trips, or social outings.

Provide meaningful companionship through conversation and shared activities.

Qualifications

Previous caregiving experience (home care, CNA, or related field preferred).

Training or experience in ostomy care strongly preferred.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift, support, and assist with mobility when needed.

Compassionate, patient, and dependable.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Work Schedule

~4 hours per day on site in Rockville and on call for 8-12 hours per day.
