Department Lead - Production

Job Summary

To achieve production goals and prepare daily functions.

Responsibilities and Duties

Knowledge of parts and processes in their department

Must maintain a clean and safe work area

Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively

Able to motivate employees to achieve their best performance

Able to plan ahead to prevent parts shortages

Adhere to all other tasks assigned by Supervisors

Essential Skills

Must be able to read a tape measure to 1 / 32

Strong organizational skills

Strong leadership skills

Interpersonal skills

Ability to transport products to the next process step.

Requires excellent attention to detail.

Reliability

Ability to perform other duties requested or required by management

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to :

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.
  • Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Position self to work on equipment, including bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Detect and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).
  • Communicate effectively with other team members regarding production processes.

The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
