Essential Functions of the Business Development Representative Role
- Research and identify target business accounts that match Lumen’s ideal client profile to drive qualified pipeline growth.
- Conduct structured discovery calls and needs assessments using frameworks like BANT to confirm budget, authority, need, and timeline.
- Initiate strategic outreach via phone, email, and digital channels to engage decision-makers and secure meetings or product presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of lead status, engagement history, and qualification notes using CRM platforms to support a predictable sales funnel.
- Transfer qualified leads and relevant client intelligence to Account Executives—ensuring smooth handoff for negotiation and closing.
