Description

The Home Health Aide is a member of the home health care team working under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse and / or other professional team members. A Home Health Aide is a para-professional who provides personal care and related homemaking services to the sick, disabled, dependent or frail elderly.

Requirements

• Completion of seventy-five (75) hour approved home health aide certification program.
• Satisfactory completion and demonstration of skills checklist.
• Completion of home health aide competency examination with score of 80% or above.
• Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Ability to read and write English consistent with the recording requirements of the job.
• Ability to carry out directions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of moving, lifting or transferring a client without posing a danger to the client or him / herself using appropriate body mechanics.
