Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Full Time (36 hours) with 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks. Day / Night rotation required, including holidays.

Job Description The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.

Assesses patient / family needs and creates a culturally relevant, individualized plan of care.

Promotes and advocates for the health, safety, and rights of the patient.

Motivates patients and families by teaching self-care concepts for continued healing.

Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.

Develops trusting relationships with patients and families to understand their needs.

Administers medications and performs interventions as appropriate.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure NYS RN Licensure Required

BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only)

One (1) Year Experience serving in a Med / Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse Required
