Job title : CNC Lathe Operator

Location : Sandusky, OH

Shift : 1st (6 am to 1 : 30 pm or 7 am to 3 : 30 pm Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday)

Salary : $20 to $25 an hour based on experience

Description :

Set up, operate, program and tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials, such as wire, rod, or bar stock.

Duties :

• Performs all assigned machine shop operations
• Reviews set up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, sets up operation and dimensions of finished work piece.
• Inserts cutting tools / tool holders and positions tools on turret.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
• Follows tag system, quality procedures and completes all relevant in-process inspection forms
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed
• Ensure all gages used are calibrated and in good working order
• Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results
• Perform general maintenance on machine such as changing coolant, oils and other lubricants
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
