Cleveland State Community College is accepting applications for the following position :

Adjunct Faculty Pool - Computer Information Technology / Computer Information Systems. Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and locations, including online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and handle administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach classes as assigned and as outlined in course descriptions, syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
• Begin and end all classes as scheduled and cover relevant learning outcomes for each course.
• Maintain academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure a positive learning environment; communicate with students weekly and respond to emails in a timely manner.
• Evaluate students using a variety of methods and inform students of scores in a timely manner.
• Use Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and respond to student questions via email.
• Meet deadlines for administrative tasks such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
• Submit requests through the department chair, program coordinator / director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, OR an Associate degree in a qualifying field with demonstrated competencies such as professional certification (national, regional or state), professional employment in the field, or evidence of teaching excellence in the related field.

For a limited number of non-transfer courses, a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with two or more of the following may be considered : documentation of professional certification, professional employment, teaching excellence, research / publication, relevant coursework beyond Bachelor's (e.g., 18 graduate semester hours), CEUs, military or vendor training, etc.

Availability / Closing Date

This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications for adjunct faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are term-based (fall, spring, and summer). Postings typically close annually on October 31, and you may need to re-apply to maintain your application.
