The City of Kennesaw Recreation Division Manager is responsible for the Recreation Division in the Parks and Recreation Department. This position reports to the Parks and Recreation Assistant Director. Specific responsibilities include program and rental operation of parks and facilities, supervision of the Recreation Center Manager, Recreation Coordinator, Recreation Specialist and front desk staff. Through study of the recreational needs of the City and working closely with the public, the Recreation Division Manager optimizes use of the facility and manages staff in developing, recommending, and promoting programs and facility rentals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Interaction : Requires the ability to act as a first-line supervisor, including instructing, reviewing work, maintaining standards, and coordinating activities.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization : Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and / or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and / or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude : Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and / or advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude : Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. May include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
Functional Reasoning : Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems.
Situational Reasoning : Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Leisure Services or related field; supplemented by five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in recreation programming and facility operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Preference given for Master's Degree in those same areas. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. May be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications : CPR and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional.
