Summary
The selected applicant should demonstrate a highly motivated, positive, outgoing, influential personality with a strong emphasis on sales and results orientation to ensure the credit union maximizes lending and sales opportunities with members who apply for credit. Consistently demonstrates the ability to think independently, outside the box, by effectively responding to each individual member's unique situations; not stuck in a mass production box. Commands a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing to ensure maximum funding rates. Demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to exceptional member service and teamwork. Is fully knowledgeable of all credit union products and services and is able to confidently offer appropriate solutions to fit member needs. Is able to clearly and effectively communicate with members and all levels of staff in oral and written form and is proficient with applicable technology.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
The right candidate should use strong interpersonal skills to consistently achieve sales goals. Displays confidence in presenting appropriate solutions to fit members' needs. Maximizes opportunities to promote PFCU products and services to benefit the member and enhance the quality and depth of member relationship and profitability. Demonstrates commitment to exceptional member service and has a strong knowledge of the loan origination process, especially taking the interview and viewing situations from the member's perspective to effectively respond to their needs and concerns; often going beyond the initial need or expressed concern of the member. Follows up to make sure the members' expectations have been met or exceeded. Explains recommendations, products and services in ways members can easily understand. Demonstrates patience, respect and empathy when dealing with difficult members or their complaints. Maintains member account information on computer system. Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. Is aware of departmental and companywide goals and is able to prioritize work to achieve funding goals. Has the ability to excel in a high stress environment and is able to meet goals and deadlines. Is able to provide timely and accurate information, responses, and decisions to internal and external members. Is fully familiar with all deposit account products, underwriting philosophies, lending decisions (approved, denied, or conditioned), approval stipulations, loan products and services, credit bureau reports and scores, credit histories, applicable Federal regulations, Mechanical Repair Coverage, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Credit Life and Disability Insurance, loan and deposit rates, and lending policies and procedures. Acts as liaison between members and various departments, helps with training new employees in the department and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience - One year to three years of similar or related experience .
Education - High school graduate or equivalent
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills - Must be accurate with numbers, managing files and records, and other loan office procedures and terminology. Ability to operate general office equipment, such as computers, calculators, copiers, scanners, and possess computer keyboarding skills. Has a general understanding of Credit Union operations. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information. Must have good communication skills.
Physical requirements - Sedentary work : must be able to sit for long periods of time in a day, possess hand, wrist, and finger dexterity to use keyboard, phone, and calculator in a repetitive manner, and the ability to view a computer monitor throughout your scheduled time.
Availability - Must be available to work from 7 : 30 a.m. to 7 : 30 p.m. Monday - Friday and Saturday and work a flexible schedule. May be required to work at other branches and have the ability to travel to and from those branches.
