Purpose of the position
The Healthcare Practice Manager will lead day-to-day operations and performance across clinical sites and mobile programs in California, including care provided in carceral facilities , public schools , and through street medicine teams . The ideal candidate is a dynamic, mission-aligned operations professional with deep experience managing diverse healthcare settings, strong regulatory knowledge, and a passion for serving vulnerable communities.
You will collaborate with leadership and frontline teams to implement operational best practices, ensure compliance, support staff development, and cultivate meaningful partnerships with community and institutional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage non-clinical operations across a range of care settings, including fixed and mobile sites delivering carceral, school-based, and street medicine services.
- Ensure each program operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
- Develop and enforce operational workflows and procedures tailored to site-specific needs, including mobile outreach logistics and correctional facility requirements.
- Coordinate supplies, equipment, scheduling, and facility or fleet maintenance.
Program & Staff Management
Supervise administrative personnel across multiple programs and support clinical leads with scheduling, communication, and coordination.Provide operational support to mobile teams conducting street medicine outreach, ensuring staff safety, equipment readiness, and timely documentation.Onboard, train, and evaluate team members with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally competent practices.Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including HIPAA, OSHA, Title 15, school health codes).Participate in audits, contract reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting metrics for each care setting.Stakeholder & Partnership Engagement
Serve as the organizational liaison to school districts, correctional facilities, and community-based partners.Foster collaborative partnerships that support integrated care delivery across clinical, educational, and street-based environments.Represent the organization at site meetings, community forums, and public health initiatives.Financial Oversight
Support site-specific budget development and monitor operating costs across programs.Collaborate with billing and finance teams to streamline documentation, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations.Requirements :
Essential Skills and Qualifications :
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).At least 5 years of progressive healthcare management experience across multi-site or multidisciplinary programs.Experience supporting care delivery in at least two of the following settings : correctional facilities, school-based clinics, street medicine / mobile outreach.Familiarity with operational and regulatory nuances of community-based healthcare models.Excellent organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.Willingness and ability to travel frequently within California.Preferred :
Background in public health, mobile healthcare operations, or correctional health services.Lived or professional experience working with people experiencing homelessness, youth, or justice-involved populations.Work Environment & Physical Demands
Regular travel to sites, including outdoor / mobile environments for street medicine.Must be able to pass all required background checks, including those for correctional and educational site access.
