Key Job Responsibilities

• Interface Implementation : Assist with the design, testing, and implementation of electronic interfaces aligned with HL7 FHIR standards and TDH public health program requirements. Apply informatics principles to ensure data transport and interoperability using HL7 FHIR standards. Support HL7 FHIR interoperability projects, including HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas.
• Technical Support and Documentation : Provide HL7 FHIR subject matter expertise and technical guidance for interoperability projects. Develop and maintain documentation for FHIR interface workflows, QA processes, and troubleshooting guides. Participate in TDH interoperability meetings, offering technical insights and recommendations.
• Strategy and Planning : Lead strategic planning to assess agency FHIR readiness and build capacity for public health FHIR solutions. Assist with TDH EDI interoperability governance and infrastructure enhancement activities.
• Interoperability Standards : Stay updated on current and emerging public health interoperability standards. Contribute to standards development activities relevant to TDH program needs.

Qualifications

Minimum : Bachelor's degree in public health informatics, epidemiology, computer science, or related IT field with 5 years of HL7 FHIR experience.

Preferred : Master's or PhD in relevant fields with 2+ years of HL7 FHIR experience. Experience with FHIR implementation in public health or clinical systems, familiarity with HL7 FHIR guides, EDI engines like Rhapsody, and providing technical FHIR training.
