Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In addition to performing the duties of the Surgical Technologist, the Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologists.

The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural.

Walnut Creek (OR) has two surgical suites and one special procedure room.

Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing.

Services include, but are not limited to : Neurology, Ortho / Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem / Onc.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $48.32 - $60.17 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Minimum two years of recent scrubbing clinical experience in an acute care operating room setting.
• Recent experience (within the last two years) scrubbing in at least three of the following service lines : General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Orthopedics / Spine, Otolaryngology / Airway, Plastics, Cardiac (Oakland Only).
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the surgical specialties listed above.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR for healthcare providers.
• High School Diploma.
• Graduate of surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience.
