Must-Have :
Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma.
Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
One year post-certification experience required to evaluate and / or instruct student radiographers.
Description :
Provide quality patient care in the medical imaging department.
Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.
Serve as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other personnel.
Ensure current standards of practice are met for the unit.
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring safety for self and patients.
Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
Produce quality images accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare patients for exams.
Provide information and instruction to patients and / or families regarding procedures while addressing their physical and emotional needs.
Assist patients during exams and position them appropriately.
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting and documenting unusual occurrences.
Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment / resources.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all healthcare personnel to support continuity of care.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
Complete technologist duties as assigned by management.
Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours as per department policy.
Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used during exams.
Finish required paperwork for each exam performed.
Prepare rooms, equipment, and materials needed for exams.
Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
Report equipment problems to supervisors and log service calls per procedure.
Keep work areas clean for employees and patients.
Maintain quality checks and documentation per department procedure.
Proactively identify problems and follow up with appropriate management personnel.
Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.
Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education and meeting attendance, sharing information with staff.
