• Other details : The facility which is stroke-certified is looking for a provider to cover beeper call only. There are an average of 1-7 patients per shift. This position requires 24-hour call coverage from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m., with call taken from home and a low overall workload. The average census includes 1 5 well babies (occasionally up to 6 7), 0 5 NICU patients (typically 1 3), and 0 1 pediatric patients (usually none). A clean file is preferred but not required, as there is sufficient time for privileging, and while an earlier start date may be possible with a quick turnaround, a February start should be expected. NRP certification is required. The provider must have an active California license and be board-certified or truly board-eligible within three to five years of residency. Required skills include neonatal airway management with intubation, management of neonatal air leaks or pneumothorax including needle decompression, emergent and standard UVC / UAC placement, lumbar puncture, and EKG interpretation. Preferred skills include neonatal ventilator management and chest tube insertion. Central line placement is only performed for neonates (UVC / UAC), and chest tubes or intubations for pediatric patients typically occur in the ED, handled by ED or anesthesia physicians. All candidates must have at least two years of recent hospital clinical activity in their specialty, explain any gaps over three months, and provide current case logs for surgical specialties. Privileging begins once the RFA and application are submitted, with a typical RFA turnaround of hours and application submission expected within five days.
