We’re looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Rock Hill, SC team on-site full-time and help strengthen our global supply chain, develop world-class supplier relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of materials that keep our customers running strong.

What You'll Do :

As a Senior Buyer, you’ll play a key role in managing strategic supplier relationships, sourcing materials, and supporting Cornell’s production goals through effective procurement practices. Your responsibilities will include :

Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers across assigned commodities.

Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and quality expectations to achieve the lowest total cost.

Develop new suppliers and product sources to support innovation and cost improvement.

Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Lead quarterly business reviews with suppliers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage procurement activities through the MRP system to ensure material availability for ongoing production.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve supplier issues (e.g., late deliveries, nonconforming materials, cost changes).

Pursue cost reduction and profit improvement opportunities across the supply base.

Maintain accurate supplier performance records and provide reports to management.

Support inventory control efforts by managing inventory levels and addressing excess or inactive stock.

Generate and process ECNs and NCRs as needed in accordance with ISO procedures.

Mentor and support supply chain team members to strengthen department capabilities.

What We're Looking For :

5–7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including global sourcing experience.

Hands-on experience with MRP systems and inventory control methods such as min-max, kanban, consignment, and VMI.

Working knowledge of lean supply chain principles and supplier development practices.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education and / or Certifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.

APICS or ISM certification preferred.
