Job Type : Part-Time (1020 hours / week)

Position Summary :

We are seeking a mission-minded and skilled Community Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in supporting the health and safety of individuals in our ISL (Individualized Supported Living) program and ensuring compliance with Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) regulations. Key responsibilities includeteaching and certifying Level 1 Medication Aides, providing Insulin Administration training, performing nurse delegation tasks, and providing consultation during events or medication errors.

Key Responsibilities :

Clinical Oversight

Conduct ongoing health assessments and develop individualized healthcare plans

  • Perform monthly nursing visits for each client to assess wellness, medication compliance, and health needs
  • Oversee medical appointments and ensure timely follow-up and coordination of care
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments as needed to support communication, advocacy, and clinical oversight
  • Facilitate pharmacy coordination, including prescription orders, refills, delivery logistics, and medication availability
  • Respond to administrator calls during medical incidents or medication errors, providing timely clinical guidance
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Ensure all nursing activities align with Missouri DMH regulations and agency standards

Training & Delegation

  • Teach and certify Level 1 Medication Aides (L1MA) in accordance with DHSS regulations
  • Provide Insulin Administration training and verify competency
  • Complete and manage nurse delegation in accordance with DMH Community RN Delegation Guidelines, including task-specific training and competency checks
  • Provide ongoing training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on medical procedures, infection control, and medication protocols
  • Monitor and coach DSPs to ensure safe and compliant medication practices
  • Documentation & Systems Management

  • Configure and maintain Medication Administration Records (MARs) in Therap
  • Process and document medication changes in Therap to ensure real-time accuracy
  • Scan and upload consultation forms and medical documentation into Therap
  • Enter and manage all medical, dental, and therapy appointment records in Therap
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and meets compliance standards for DMH and internal audits
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Active RN license in the State of Missouri
  • DHSS-approved instructor for Level 1 Medication Aide OR willingness to become certified upon hire
  • Proficiency in teaching Insulin Administration
  • Experience with nurse delegation responsibilities
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and general computer skills (email, file management, scanning, online training platforms)
  • Prior experience with Therap preferred (including MAR configuration, appointment scheduling, and documentation uploads)
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community-based or developmental disability services
  • Strong teaching, documentation, and communication skills
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable with occasional clinical phone consultation
  • Work Schedule & Environment :

  • Flexible part-time schedule (1020 hours / week)
  • Travel to residential homes central office & agency training center
  • Occasional after-hours availability for consultation and to accommodate client schedules
  • Compensation & Benefits :
