Communications Officer
Oregon State University is seeking up to two Communications Officers. These are full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, Public Safety Professional positions.

The Department of Public Safety is committed to providing a safe campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors that facilitates Oregon State University's educational, research, and community service goals.
As a member of the Oregon State University Public Safety Department, employees will provide investigational and administrative support to the Campus Public Safety personnel and Police. OSU Public Safety is a Secondary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) which requires the processing of emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and responds to requests for public safety services.

Key responsibilities include radio operations, phone operations, data entry and information queries, alarms, and confidentiality and reporting.
What you will need includes a high school diploma or equivalent, Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification, DPSST Telecommunications certification, proficiency with computers and standard office programs, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
What we would like you to have includes one year of previous experience in a Communications Center or Call Center.
Working conditions may require work in a confined area, moderate noise levels, rotating and varied shifts, and work during inclement weather conditions and natural disasters.
