The People Advisor plays a pivotal role in harmonizing UVC's human resources and business strategies, providing both operational and strategic support to enhance company performance. This role demands a versatile candidate adept at data analysis, prioritization, and strategic planning, with strong interpersonal skills to effectively drive values and influence business outcomes. People Advisor capabilities include a wide range of functional areas such as :
Serve as the liaison between the hospitals, operations, and the HR teamCoaching and consulting leadership about HR mattersBeing a company culture and team member experience championThe People Advisor reports to the Director of People Operations and will act as an HR business partner to the Regional Director of Operations and their respective hospital leadership teams. This is a remote position supporting our Specialty / Emergency region of hospitals nationwide.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks :
Act as the primary point person for all HR related matters and connect the business leaders to the central HR teams where appropriate.Partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.Work as the subject matter expert to educate leaders on all topics concerning HR processes, policies, compliance, performance, benefits, systems and more.Serve as the front-facing lead and on-going support for newly acquired hospitals in conjunction with the HR integration team and other cross-functional partners.Reskilling and upskilling : identify training needs and assist the L&D function in aligning training programs with business objectives.Strategic workforce planning : ensure the company’s workforce has the right size, shape, cost, and agility for the future.Conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with business leaders and provide HR advice where necessary.Be up to date on employment laws and regulations, and other legal requirements to help leaders ensure compliance.Provide guidance on the creation, implementation and interpretation of HR processes and policies.Support both operational and hospital leaders in employee relations matters including counseling, terminations, investigations, and litigation.Conduct day-to-day performance management guidance to hospital leadership (mentoring, career planning, coaching, etc.)Help hospital leadership deal with organizational, people, and change-related issues.Optimize organizational design to increase productivity and improve performance of the business.Collaborate with other HR team members on implementing innovative and inclusive recruitment strategies.Work with the benefits team to develop a future-proof compensation and benefits strategy.Implementing reward and recognition interventions to increase bottom-line results and team member engagement.Provide advice and suggestions for culture-related initiatives, such as cultural transformation.Implement HR interventions on team member wellness, diversity and inclusion, or talent management.Work together with hospital leadership to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive team member relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent business management experience required; PHR or SPHR certification, master’s degree in human resources or MBA, or relevant masters, a plus but not required.Minimum of 3+ years related human resources or veterinary practice management experience.Experience in veterinary medicine required. Experience in specialty / emergency is a plus.Strong organization and time management skills will assist the People Advisor in effectively leading the project toward completion.Must be able to identify, analyze, and solve problems and derive solutions to overcome them.Should have a strong competency in using influence versus authority to guide and counsel leaders. It is the role of the People Advisor to build trust so that leaders feel confident looking to them for support and guidance.Must be able to handle confidential, sensitive, and private information. This information should always be maintained with the utmost level of integrity and professionalism.Should be able to build and maintain a level of business and financial literacy to sustainably support the changing needs of the organization.Physical Requirements :
Ability to travel up to 15% of time.Strong communication skills, written and verbal and non-verbal, are critical.Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.Frequent to moderate noise level in the work environment.Frequent ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.The physical requirements and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Salary range is $85,000-$95,000Schedule : Monday – FridayLocation : Remote with travel up to 15% of the timeBenefits :
