Description
The Department of Psychiatry at Iowa Health Care is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to perform direct patient care including psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and medication management services with physician supervision across multiple settings, including outpatient clinics, crisis observation units, and emergency services. Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Internal candidates are not eligible for sign-on bonus. This position may be eligible for a relocation allowance. The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner will help in educating healthcare students, residents, and fellows as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions as well as with research endeavors as appropriate.
Iowa Health Care provides both hospital and clinic based psychiatric services across the lifespan. Clinical assignment opportunities exist throughout the department of psychiatry and will be based upon departmental need, clinical expertise, and personal preference.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision
Receives supervision and direction from APP Lead in Psychiatry and daily supervision is received from faculty assigned to the clinic each day. Receives clinical supervision through collaborative practice agreement. May exercise functional supervision over support staff.
Percent of Time : 75 - 100%

Qualifications
Education
A Master's degree is required. A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred. If Master's degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
Certifications and Licensure
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required.
Current certification in specialty area (PMHNP preferred) and licensed as an ARNP in state of Iowa is required by start date.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated clinical experience in Psychiatry is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with health care members providing care for highly complex patients.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain flexibility within a changing clinical environment.
Experience working in a mental health clinic and / or in an emergency room with patients with psychiatric concerns.
Experience with multi-disciplinary process improvement.
