About The Position

BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)

Must-Have :

• ICU experience
• Float required (Med / Surg)
• Every third weekend required

Description :

ICU RN for Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patient unit.

Must have ICU experience.

15 rooms / beds with an average daily census of approximately 7.

Experience with stem cell care is a plus but not required.

Float to medical / surgical unit is required with every third weekend duty.

No on-call responsibilities.

Proficient in Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation.

Night shift hours are from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30.

Key Responsibilities :

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.

Perform arterial line management.

Administer blood products.

Provide care for central lines and PICC lines.

Administer emergency medications and titrate cardiac drips.

Assist with BiPAP / CPAP management.

Assist with chest tube insertion and removal.

Care for ventilated patients.

Utilize high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC).

Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).

Perform suctioning (ETT, NT).

Manage infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.

Perform phlebotomy.

Preferred Skills / Experience :

IV insulin protocols.

Accessing ports.

Starting IVs.

CVA / acute stroke management.

ICP monitoring.

Chemotherapy administration.

Management of surgical wounds with drains / wound vac.

Unit Details :

Diverse patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.

Daily census averages around 7 patients.

Unit staffed with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Patient diagnoses include stem cell transplant and CAR-T patients, who may present with neurological side effects or CRS symptoms.

Previous charge experience is beneficial.

Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
