About the Role

Are you an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer eager to lead technical assessments and optimize PV and BESS projects? We are looking for a skilled individual to manage the technical evaluation of contractor designs, drive optimization efforts, and support the growth of our PV and storage portfolio. In this role, you will collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers during the project delivery phase, while also providing vital engineering insights to the Construction, Pre-Construction, and Development teams. You will set and update the minimum functional specifications for all projects, keep senior management informed of engineering decisions, and promote continuous improvements in design and engineering practices. Evaluating new technologies and drafting technical documentation to support procurement are key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Engineers and Construction and Development teams with electrical engineering issues.
  • Provide input for electrical design in conceptual studies, feasibility studies, and technical assessments for PV and BESS projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications for electrical works for tendering purposes.
  • Monitor compliance with technical specifications through regular audits of contractor documentation.
  • Promote standardization in electrical designs to reduce CAPEX and OPEX, and establish robust engineering standards and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, schematics, and reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment with the Procurement Department.
  • Evaluate electrical calculations and designs for PV plants, including grid connection interfaces and substation design.
  • Conduct risk assessments on grid connection conditions and collaborate with the Grid team.
  • Participate in project meetings and engage with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate their activities to ensure high-quality designs.

Qualifications

  • BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction of renewable energy projects.
  • Technical knowledge of grid connections for generators.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PowerFactory).
  • Familiarity with PV and BESS components and industry standards.
  • Experience in optimizing PV and BESS plant designs to minimize costs.
  • Knowledge of international electrical standards and grid code compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
