Senior Litigation Attorney

Job Overview :

A prominent law firm based in Lake Forest, CA , is seeking a seasoned Senior Litigation Attorney to manage and lead complex civil litigation defense matters. Duties :

Lead all phases of litigation from case intake to post-trial resolution

Act as first or second chair during trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations

Develop case strategies and manage client expectations and communications

Collaborate with litigation teams to deliver high-caliber written work, including motions and briefs

Supervise and mentor associates on legal analysis, case development, and courtroom preparation

Evaluate litigation risks, propose case budgets, and prepare comprehensive updates for clients and internal stakeholders

Maintain compliance with ethical standards and support continual improvements in litigation processes

Requirements :

At least 7 years of hands-on civil litigation defense experience

Experience as first or second chair in high-stakes trials

Strong ability to assess case value and develop tactical litigation approaches

Track record of cultivating strong attorney-client relationships

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities

Education :

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications :

Active license to practice law in the State of California

Skills :

Excellent strategic thinking and legal judgment

Strong organizational and case management skills

Ability to foster teamwork while working independently

Familiarity with advanced legal technology tools (e.g., Westlaw, AI-assisted research platforms)
