We are seeking an Attorney-Litigation to become a part of our team! You will represent clients in legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise clients on legal transactions. We are a small firm located in Spring Branch looking to hire an attorney to replace someone that is retiring after 30 years. This role will handle a variety of claims including workers compensation, insurance defense, subrogation and employment litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in workers compensation claims and be well-versed in state-specific workers' compensation laws and procedures. Responsibilities :
- Represent clients in workers' compensation cases, including hearings, depositions, mediations and trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations regarding work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Communicate effectively with clients opposing counsel, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
- Advise clients on business and legal transactions
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor(JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active Texas Bar License.3 or more years of experience with insurance defense litigation, subrogation, employment law, construction or workers compensation.Strong litigation, negotiation, and analytical skills.Excellent research and writing skills.Familiarity with various legal documentsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to build rapport with clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
