We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. $30 - $45 full salary range. Position will start at $33 - $35 per hour.
Compensation : $30 - $45 hourly
Responsibilities :
- Case management : Assisting with case planning, development, and management.
- Document preparation : Drafting legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and affidavits.
- Research : Researching laws, regulations, and legal articles relevant to a case.
- Evidence collection : Gathering, organizing, and maintaining legal documents, exhibits, and evidence.
- Filing : Filing legal documents with the appropriate court, government agency, or opposing counsel; includes file organization and indexing as well as secure storage while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with communication with court staff and opposing counsel at the direction of Attorneys. As requested by an attorney, follow up with clients on matters related to the case.
- Recordkeeping : Developing and maintaining records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Analysis : Analyzing records and files and making recommendations to the attorney.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications : Skills Required :
Proficient in legal technology, including case management software, eDiscovery tools, and other technology necessary to support cases.Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills to navigate all facets of the position.Ability to represent the firm before administrative agencies.Manage multiple cases, keep track of documents, and meet deadlinesAbility to sort, manage, and file client documents.Solid understanding of procedure and court rules to navigate the legal system.Ability to draft and proofread legal documents and to convey complex legal concepts accurately.Precise in gathering, organizing, and filing documents with the ability to make fine visual distinctions when proofreading written documents (proficient in grammar, style, and clarity on legal documents).Exceptional team collaboration, ability to develop business relationships, and demonstrating leadership skills.Proficient in Microsoft Suite technology and able to learn other systems quickly.Ability to maintain strict confidence in all case matters from records, documents, and conversations.Minimum Qualifications :
At least 1 year of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting, andEither have completed an ABA-approved paralegal program, finished a paralegal program from a recognized postsecondary institution with accreditation, or have a bachelor’s degree with at least one year of law-related experience under a supervising attorney.About Company
