Medical Assistant - Plano, TX

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM. The role involves supporting physicians and providing excellent patient care within a professional medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Record vital patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam / treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures by standing and taking notes.
• Maintain all exam / treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse / pharmacist.
• Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
• Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
• Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception as requested by supervisors or physicians.

Essential Skills

Certification as a Medical Assistant.

Experience in a medical assistant role, even without certification, will be considered.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is supportive and patient-focused. The physician is highly appreciated by patients, often taking time to ensure thorough care, which may lead to a slightly delayed schedule. There is a satellite office in Denison that requires attention on Monday mornings.

Location

This position is based out of Plano, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
