Police Officer

The Preston Police Department is proud to announce an opening for the position of Police Officer . This role is integral to maintaining safety and order within our community. The starting salary for this position is $52,000 annually, translating to $25.00 per hour. To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet specific criteria. Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age, be citizens of the United States, and have earned at least a high school diploma or its equivalent. It is also essential for applicants to possess a valid driver’s license. As part of the application process, candidates will be required to successfully pass a variety of evaluations. This will involve completing a written test, a physical fitness assessment specified by Idaho POST, a thorough background check, a computer voice stress analysis or polygraph, along with a drug screening and an oral interview.

Although POST certification is highly preferred, it is not essential for applying. Candidates who are hired without POST certification must achieve their Idaho POST certification within one year of commencing employment.
