CobbFendley is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in our Tempe, Arizona Office.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE + KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITY (KSA)
Novice / Basic understanding and minimal practical experience; requires guidance and supervision. No experience is required; internship experience and EIT preferred.Knowledge of standard engineering and scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.Skills including use of industry-standard computer software for the position (e.g., CAD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and hydrologic / hydraulic models).Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.Responsibilities
Design + Analysis – Complete simple application of design and analysis using determined software and criteria, under the direction of a Professional Engineer.Exercise limited judgment on details of work including preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.Compliance + Quality – Utilize company resources to begin understanding QA / QC processes and procedures.Communication + Collaboration – Work with supervisor, project manager, mentors, and internal personnel to complete assignments within discipline.Training, Learning + Advancement – Utilize formal education including fundamentals of engineering and apply it in assignments.Client + Internal Satisfaction – Work with internal clients daily and escalate concerns when needed.Technical – Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities; work in a collaborative team environment and perform self QA / QC of work.Adhere to CobbFendley's safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.Learn and maintain knowledge of client standards, rules, and requirements for planning, construction, and documentation.Support CobbFendley Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design or coordination tasks for various projects.Work towards obtaining EIT and PE licensure within 6 months to meet performance requirements.Desired Experience – any combination of the following : Utility design and relocation for underground utilities including potable water, reclaimed water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, natural gas distribution, telecommunications, fiber optic cable, site development.Residential subdivisions; commercial buildings; public facilities such as schools, fire houses or similar; hydrology and hydraulics.Drainage studies and master plans; open channel design; storm water quality analysis; hydraulic structures (weirs, grade control, slope stabilization).Physical / Cognitive Requirements + Environmental Factors
Most work is in a professional office environment. Some travel to client offices and outdoor observations may be required.

This is a full-time position, generally 40 hours per week, with overtime possible depending on department needs.Standard hours : Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM CST. Unpaid 1-hour lunch break; hours may vary by project workload, especially for field staff.Work Location Flexibility
