Overview

The Boeing Company is seeking a Technical & Workforce Integration Manager to join our Digital & Systems Engineering (D&SE) Functional Chief Engineer (FCE) Office. The selected candidate will execute and integrate technical strategies, practices, processes, and tools, and focus on the development and growth of talent within the D&SE function. This role also provides skill leader responsibilities for 6C, 6D, and 6K and leads workforce integration initiatives such as skill health measures, training, and development for engineers and leaders in 6C, 6D, and 6K. The role supports MBSE and the ongoing maturation of digital engineering tools, processes, training, and people across Business Units in partnership with the Functional Technical Boards.

The position will lead direct reports in Systems Engineering and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and influence teams and stakeholders across the enterprise. The job is located in multiple possible sites : Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; El Segundo, CA; Huntsville, AL; Everett, WA; or Seattle, WA.

Position Responsibilities Include

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees performing engineering and technical activities in PLM and Systems Engineering across multiple locations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Provide technical direction and integration for enterprise-led projects supporting Digital Engineering tools, processes, and architectures
  • Partner with FCE Leadership to identify risks, issues, and opportunities in disciplined Systems Engineering and MBSE across the enterprise
  • Work with ET&T, Technical Development counterparts, and Business Units to : create and identify training and development pathways to measurably increase engineer proficiency; lead training initiatives; execute skill leader responsibilities for retention, movement, promotions, reclassifications, etc.; develop clear utilization for 6C, 6D, and 6K skills; manage, track, and align direct reporting resources to Digital Engineering strategies / roadmaps, and track OKRs to the FCE Leadership team

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities in the full lifecycle
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired)

  • 5+ years in management leading teams in Digital & Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience using Systems Engineering tools for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience developing and implementing workforce development / learning solutions
  • Experience leading skill teams and / or skill-related initiatives
  • Experience across multiple products and processes (BCA, BDS, BGS)
  • Experience in workforce management (talent acquisition, retention, development)
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across organizations to drive common objectives
  • Strategic systems thinker with strong integration and collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills at all levels and demonstrated initiative leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience leading design, implementation, or management of systems engineering / MBSE tools, methods, processes, and / or people
