Electrical Power Systems Engineer – Substation Design & Energy Projects
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join a leading team specializing in capital projects for the energy sector. This role focuses on designing and upgrading electrical substations — including new builds, renovations, and expansions — for medium-voltage systems up to 34.5kV.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and oversee the preparation of engineering deliverables for complex substation projects .
Design and analyze electrical one-line diagrams, protection and control systems, relay panels, and grounding systems .
Perform protective device coordination, short circuit, arc flash, and harmonic analysis using advanced modeling tools.
Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient project execution.
Support SCADA system integration , substation protection upgrades, and system reliability improvements.
Conduct field investigations and participate in quality control reviews to validate designs.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (3.0+ GPA preferred).
3–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical power system design, preferably in the energy or utilities sector .
Strong knowledge of SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower , and expertise in relay programming and protection system analysis .
Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards .
EIT or PE license preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of collaborating across disciplines.
Authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
