LHH has partnered with an exceptional nonprofit organization in Montgomery County, MD to identify a Bookkeeper! This role will manage day-to-day accounting and finance functions and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Assist with payroll processing and benefits tracking.
Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support annual audits and tax filings by preparing necessary documentation.
Maintain organized records for compliance and internal controls.
Monitor cash flow and assist with budget tracking.
Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field desired.
2+ years of bookkeeping experience; nonprofit experience is a plus.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
