Robert Half Talent Solutions is working with a company in Earth City is partnering with a growing organization in Earth City searching for an Accounting Manager. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing employee benefit plans.
Key Responsibilities :
Accounting Operations
- Manage and supervise daily accounting functions such as general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements, adhering to GAAP and DOL / ERISA requirements.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reconciliations.
- Review daily fund transfers to confirm proper allocation and reconciliation.
- Process monthly contribution reports submitted by contractors.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting standards.Identify and escalate processes needing improvement.Assist in the development of internal controls and standard operating procedures.Audit Support and Regulatory Reporting
Provide support during annual external audits conducted by independent public accountants and regulatory agencies.Assist with IRS Form 5500 filings, tax filings, and other compliance-related reporting.Develop and provide reports and documentation as required during financial audits.Leadership
Manage, train, and mentor accounting team members.Provide recommendations and business analysis to leadership.Undertake special projects as assigned by the Executive Director or Senior Accounting Manager.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.5+ years full cycle accounting experience with prior supervision.Sound understanding of GAAP. Prior experience with ERISA, and Department of Labor financial regulations preferred.High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional integrity.Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and maintain confidentiality.Preferred Skills :
Experience with Sage Accounting Software.Familiarity with pension, health & welfare, or annuity fund accounting.Prior experience with external audits and ERP system implementation.Our client offers a excellent benefits package (including fully paid health insurance and pension) and base salary to $123k.
