American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required
Must-Have :
Nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty
Ability to float to various locations as required
Description :
Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, review of medical records, and clinical data.
Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes.
Develop and implement patient plans of care and observe outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic / diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
Promote, advocate for, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
Provide patient and family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and abilities.
Conduct teaching and evaluate the effectiveness of education provided.
Recognize the patient or designee as essential partners in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.
Deliver relationship-based care by striving to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engaging them in all aspects of care.
Provide care with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with nursing guidelines and hospital policies.
Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
Manage resources and patient flow by aligning nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.
Follow standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, promoting open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making for quality patient care.
Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence.
Maintain professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
Evaluate one’s own integrity and nursing practice against professional standards, statutes, rules, and regulations.
Take action to achieve goals identified during evaluation processes.
