American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-bed Emergency Department assignment requiring an AZ or compact RN license and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 12-bed Emergency Department within an acute care settingPatient population includes primarily lower acuity ESI 3-4 cases such as abdominal pain, headaches, and stabilization prior to transferNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 412-hour day shifts with 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks and coverage of 2 out of 4 major holidaysUse of Cerner EMR is requiredStaff may be required to float to nearby freestanding emergency departments in Litchfield and GlendaleTelemonitoring with Phillips equipment is utilizedUnit staffed with charge nurses, PCTs, and paramedicsOrientation includes two days of unit-specific trainingRNs are responsible for performing labs, EKGs, patient transport, and all transfersMaintaining a positive team-oriented culture and strong collaboration is emphasizedSIMs Lab for technical skills assessment is required, and breaking sterile field may result in terminationTravelers must have their own vehicle for potential float assignmentsScrub color is navy and natural hair color is required; no facial piercings allowed; men must be clean-shaven for fit testingHoliday coverage is required on a rotational basisFirst-time travelers will be considered for this position\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of applicationMinimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are requiredMust pass a pre-employment dysrhythmia exam before offer can be extendedSuccessful completion of a pass / fail skills assessment in sterile technique, Foley catheter and port-a-cath insertion on day one of orientation is required50-mile radius rule applies; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s licenseCandidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n Benefits\n
