About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : 2 years required, will consider 1.5 years

License : Must have an active RN license or temporary license prior to start

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required

Must-Have :

• Previous charge experience
• Patient ratio experience in a PCU setting
• Familiarity with charting systems

Description :

This unit is an acuity adaptable unit.

Patients range from medical surgical level of care to PCU / stepdown / ICU level of care.

Ratios can range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6 depending on acuity type and patient type.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a charge role.

Openness to floating within the hospital and to other areas is required.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

The patient population includes conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, UTI, and CHF.

The unit has a daily census of approximately 30 patients.

Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

RNs are required to manage various types of intravenous drips and respond to emergencies.

Candidates must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac telemetry patients.

Each RN is expected to maintain safety and follow isolation precautions.

The patient diagnosis mix requires RNs to float within the hospital to meet census needs.

Preference will be given to candidates with telemetry and cardiac telemetry experience.
