Compensation Range : $21.36 - $29.90

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries / hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities : Assists, advises and serves as a resource person for student organizations (student groups, committees, governments, etc.) in planning and evaluating programs for students' intellectual, social, cultural and recreational benefit. Participates in research of student activities, programs and group structures.

Essential Functions :

  • Advises and assists student organizations with program planning, group structure, contracts and finances. Assists in making contacts and accommodating visitors, arranging for lectures and discussions by leaders in cultural, professional, business and labor field, and stimulating interest in music, drama and other arts.
  • Counsels individual students and groups in career planning, individual or group problems, and social relationships. Refers students to various University services such as Counseling and Special Services, and Student Health Service.
  • Serves as a resource for groups and individuals in planning programs, making use of University and outside resources and working more effectively within University policy.
  • Encourages development of new and special projects by providing the initial impetus and involving students in the organizing, planning and production phases.
  • Conducts or participates in research and analysis of student activity programs, using a variety of techniques, maintaining extensive contacts and corresponding with other institutions, surveying students, faculty and staff, and forming committees and work groups. May recommend new programs or structures for improved student services and relationships between the students, University and community.
  • Participates and serves on various committees, serving as chair as required.
  • Keeps abreast of student personnel field by participating in activities of professional societies and attending conferences and seminars.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in student activity programs required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
