Overview
We are seeking a full-time CAD Librarian in our Salem, OR or our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating component models and archiving them to the global eCAD and / or mCAD library for use in mechanical and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designs for all of Garmin’s segments worldwide.
Essential Functions
- Maintain / support a global library database within established Garmin standards
- Work closely with Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Component Engineers, and Process Engineers to create and / or source component models
- Publish library parts to the global eCAD library for use in electrical / mechanical designs
- Process CAD Library requests for new parts and analyze / modify existing library models for improved readability of the schematic or manufacturability of the component
- Verify / validate component models created by other librarians for accuracy and compliance with Garmin standards
- Participate in usability, testing, and validation of the CAD tools and engineering processes
- Assist with user support of tools / processes used for the library change control system
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities
- Practice Garmin’s and PCB Design Team's Mission / Vision Statement and exhibit enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeed
Basic Qualifications
Technical School graduate OR a minimum of 3 years experience in the electronic assembly or repair field OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrates an understanding of surface mount and through hole electronic componentsDemonstrates proficiency using eCAD and / or MCAD toolsMust demonstrate an ability to interpret Manufacturer Data SheetsDemonstrates knowledge of PCB manufacturing processesMust demonstrate proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applicationsDesired Qualifications
Experience with component modelingExperience with CadenceExperience with SolidWorks, OnShape or CatiaExperience with SolidWorks, PDM or similar Product Data Management systemBasic Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Working knowledge of all types of electronic componentsWorking knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operationGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
