Overview

The Onsite Consultant is responsible for providing professional and responsive service to onsite customers in environments including production, mailroom, shipping and / or retail services. The Onsite Consultant interfaces with customers at all levels and works to meet customer requests and contract requirements. The role involves operating a wide variety of computers and equipment, moving boxes and equipment, stocking supplies, managing projects, filling out forms, sorting papers, completing tasks based on priority, following supervisor instructions, and communicating effectively with team members. The Onsite Consultant delivers a positive customer experience using consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives and provide solutions. The position works with minimal instruction and supervision and interacts daily with customers, managers, team members and vendors to accomplish established business objectives.

General Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a representative list of duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adhere to legal, HR, safety and security policies and procedures
  • Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing onsite functions
  • Meet onsite guidelines and policies (safety training, background check, and any other requirements)
  • Keep and maintain the working premises neat and free from clutter, maximizing safety and efficiency
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and use sound judgment to resolve customer issues; escalate to supervisor as needed
  • Provide customer service and problem-solving to satisfy needs with minimal supervision
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Assist in training onsite team members
  • Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages
  • Perform administrative duties, including ordering supplies and inventory controls
  • Collaborate with office and print locations as needed to produce customer work and fulfill needs
  • Production

  • Produce complex orders, prioritize production, perform quality checks and coordinate pickups and deliveries
  • Operate Digital and Signs & Graphics printers, binding and other auxiliary equipment
  • Monitor production flow to ensure orders are done right and on time
  • Ensure quality during and after the production process
  • Set up, operate and maintain equipment
  • Produce work in accordance with LEAN manufacturing principles to deliver Done Right On Time quality results
  • Shipping & Mailroom

  • Coordinate all mail and shipping related services and activities
  • Pick up and deliver customer packages and mail onsite
  • Move packages with appropriate equipment and assistance
  • Assemble packages and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items, placing in containers, weighing, and labeling
  • Operate and maintain a mail processing machine (mail meter) for outbound mail
  • Provide customer service by determining shipping methods and informing customers of products, services, routes, and rates
  • Sort and prepare packages and mail for pickup or delivery
  • Utilize a tracking system to log receipt and release of packages
  • Utilize pallet jacks and other large package handling equipment
  • Investigate packages and mail with unknown recipients
  • Retail

  • Demonstrate consultative behaviors to provide friendly, professional service
  • Apply expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping to recommend FedEx Office products and services
  • Use consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and deliver solutions
  • Accurately take complex customer orders, including pricing information
  • Manage bid follow-up and consult on complex orders
  • Apply knowledge of onsite pricing and contractual obligations
  • If applicable, operate the Point of Sale terminal, process financial transactions, and handle cash securely
  • All other duties as needed or required
  • Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of specialized experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • For new hires, must meet all employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
  • For current team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
  • Essential Functions
