Role Overview
As the Lead Laborer, you will play a key role in supporting Greenlight Constructions project delivery by ensuring job sites are clean, safe, organized, and compliant with all safety and environmental regulations. This position works closely with Superintendents and project teams on daily construction activities including material handling, jobsite preparation, cleanup, and coordination with trade partners.
The Lead Laborer is responsible for maintaining site standards, supporting inspection readiness, and modeling a strong get it done attitude to foster a positive team culture. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and takes pride in their worksomeone who leads by example and helps ensure each Greenlight project reflects the companys high standards of quality, safety, and teamwork.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and organized job sites in accordance with GLC safety and cleanliness standards
- Monitor and enforce jobsite safety practices; immediately report hazards or incidents
- Support Superintendents with project setup, deliveries, inspections, and punch-list activities
- Ensure projects are built to plans, specifications, and quality standards through hands-on support
- Maintain accurate and timely SWPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention) and dust control logs
- Provide accurate dates and details for all incident reports
- Participate in weekly site meetings with trade partners, addressing safety, scheduling, and inspections
- Maintain tools, materials, and site equipment in good working condition
- Assist with hazard prevention, site cleanup, and preparation for inspections
- Support QA / QC efforts by ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and ready for inspection
- Promote and engage in Greenlights culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability
- Serve as a positive representative of Greenlight to subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors
- Participate in the GLC project QA / QC and punch processes
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3 of experience in multifamily or commercial constructionProven ability to assist in a fast-paced construction environmentStrong communication and teamwork skills; bilingual (English / Spanish) a plusFamiliarity of construction safety standards and best practicesFamiliarity with inspection processes, site cleanliness requirements, and project logisticsAbility to read and interpret construction plans is preferredReliable transportation and valid drivers license requiredOSHA 10 (minimum) required; OSHA 30 preferredMaricopa County Dust Certification preferredMinimum Criteria
35 years of general labor or construction field experienceUnderstanding of safety and environmental compliance (SWPP, Dust Control, PPE)Strong work ethic, dependability, and proactive communicationWillingness to take ownership of daily tasks and support all phases of construction
