Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

GMC has an opening for a

Design Associate

to support on-going projects in our growing

Orlando Office.

This position is responsible for architectural design services supporting our Healthcare projects in central Florida.

Essential functions and responsibilities include :

Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks

Acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

Perform code and product research

Visits sites to prepare as-built drawings of existing buildings

Prepares construction document drawings in Revit

Assists on other tasks such as preparation of permit applications and project manuals

Collects data and gathers information, performs standard computation and analysis

Coordinates with engineering consultants on assigned projects

Prepare meeting agendas and document meeting notes

Responds to contractors RFIs and communications during construction

Review shop drawings for conformance with construction documents

Occasional site visits to projects during the construction phase to monitor construction progress

Performs any other tasks as needed by Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited architectural program

5 - 10 years of experience in architectural design

Experience working on healthcare projects preferred

Experience in Revit, and complementary design tools

Strong oral and written communication skills

Previous architectural internship experience preferred

Must be able to perform work-related travel and have a valid driver's license

Must be local to GMC office
