Description
Creating and distributing original editorial content is key to The King Center’s marketing and communications strategy. We are seeking to hire a Digital Content Producer who is a creative storyteller and has a passion for social justice and advancing humanity through digital content and video production. The Digital Content Producer (DCP) is responsible for writing news stories, product descriptions, and blogs for various digital platforms, including websites, email marketing campaigns, and social media posts. Essential to this role is the ability to create and produce video content that amplifies The King Center’s mission, vision, and programmatic thrust in engaging ways and a commitment to engaging in an ongoing study of nonviolence and its relevance today. Additionally, the DCP will oversee creating relevant content around the modern Civil Rights movement, The King Legacy, and how nonviolence and the Beloved Community relate to current issues and events across the globe. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills.
The Digital Content Producer works closely with colleagues in Design, Marketing, Communications, Programming, Development, and Technology, and reports to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Conceive and produce compelling editorial content across platforms via video, audio, interactive media, photography, and text
- Create work of high quality, aligned to and supporting The King Center’s global mission, values, and intersectional audiences
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to produce organic and paid promotional assets for The King Center programs
- Liaise with departmental program teams to design and maintain a wide range of content that connects audiences to programming, mission, and future collaborations in organic, direct, and exciting ways
- Collaborate with other members of the Marketing and Communications team, other departments within The King Center, and outside consultants to integrate digital content across platforms, including social media and email marketing, and to drive execution
- Articulate a creative sensibility and collaborate with departments to realize it in a compelling and manageable way
- Negotiate, manage, and execute contracts regarding content production
- Manage work by production vendors
- Build a network of vendors with shared values from diverse backgrounds
- Ensure all multimedia content complies with The King Center’s standards for accessibility across platforms
- Maximize the ROI on content to serve goals across Editorial, Marketing, Communications, and Development teams
- Edit videos, photos, and audio to serve Editorial, Marketing, Communications, and Development teams
- Collaborate with the Archives team on documentation of all programs, collaborating with program teams to ensure all needs are met
- Ensure all digital assets are placed in the digital asset management (DAM) system to ensure the secure preservation of all assets
Requirements
