Summary of Responsibility
- Integral part of the leadership team in establishing the overall goals and strategies for growth and support of St. Luke’s
- Focal point and senior leader for marketing strategy
- Senior staff liaison to the Advancement Committee, providing guidance and direction to the Committee in the areas of communications, marketing, and the overall advancement of the community as a whole
- Project management and supervision, as required
Public Relations and Marketing
Ensure that the branding and messaging for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church is compelling and in support of our Vision : A City Transformed by the Love of JesusPartner with the Ministry Centers under the umbrella of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church to ensure that our message of partnership is clearEnsure that the website for the community as a whole and its individual parts are consistent with St. Luke’s brand strategyOversee the Public Relations Plan and develop multi-faceted communication streams to reach all generations and sectorsUnderstand the diverse demographics of the church and the community and their communication needsOversee staff as assigned to work on specific related tasksCommunications, Media and Digital Ministries
Manage all components of creative communications, including directing teams responsible for web and social media marketing, graphic design, creative video, advertising, and digital marketingDevelopment
Serve as a contributing member on the Advancement Committee and Generosity CommitteeIn coordination with Finance, Stewardship, and Communications staff, oversee the creation of marketing materials, and support event / campaign chairmen in understanding and attaining their fundraising goalsIn coordination with Finance, Stewardship and Communications staff, design and develop an Annual Report to transparently share the church’s success and impact, to recognize and influence donor giving and appreciationRequirements : Education
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related fieldExperience
10 plus years of experience in public relations and marketingKnowledge of Design ThinkingSolid understanding of popular communications and media technology and willingness to step out to keep up with trendsFamiliarity with Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, and CMSExcellent Microsoft Office and Google Suite skillsExperience working in a church setting preferredFamiliar with the language and culture of the Methodist church, specifically St. Luke’sTalents
Proven leadership and managerial skills essential to the successful implementation of a comprehensive, strategic communications programAbility to effectively tell a story through print, digital, and video communicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam player with strong interpersonal skillsDetail oriented, creative, organized and flexibleAffirms the Christian faith and is passionate about building God’s Kingdom via St. Luke’s United Methodist Church
