Job Description :

\nJoin the dedicated team at MyMichigan Health - Midland as a registered nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit, providing compassionate care to patients with diverse medical needs, including cancer diagnoses, medical step-down cases, and general medical overflow. This role requires a solid understanding of the pathophysiology of cancer and the ability to deliver comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities :

\n \n

Patient Assessment & Care Planning (30%) : Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs regularly, developing and updating individualized care plans in accordance with physician orders and nursing best practices.\n

Direct Patient Care (30%) : Provide hands-on nursing services, including medication administration, treatments, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms promptly.\n

Treatment Evaluation & Collaboration (20%) : Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments, collaborating with the healthcare team to modify care plans for optimal outcomes.\n

Order Processing & Follow-Up (10%) : Accurately process physician orders and follow up on medication changes and clarifications to ensure safe and effective patient care.\n

Qualifications & Requirements :

\n \n

Current and Valid Registered Nurse License (License Number, State of licensure) is mandatory .\n

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required .\n

Experience in Medical-Surgical or Oncology Units is highly preferred.\n

Strong knowledge of cancer pathophysiology and medical care protocols.\n

Excellent clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.\n

Ability to handle high-pressure situations with compassion and professionalism.\n

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.\n

Preferred Education & Experience :

\n \n

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent preferred.\n

Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or oncology setting.\n

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.\n
