Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager, Automation leads the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale automation and controls projects for Daedalus Industrial. This role manages multiple concurrent projects, ensuring technical quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction. Acting as a bridge between engineering, operations, and clients, the Senior Project Manager drives redefining efficiency through disciplined project delivery and leadership excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of complex automation projects from proposal through commissioning.
- Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, fabrication, and field commissioning staff.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules while ensuring adherence to contractual and technical requirements.
- Apply structured project management methodologies (PMBOK or equivalent) to ensure process consistency across all projects.
- Lead scope, schedule, and cost control processes, including proactive change and risk management.
- Conduct and document project risk assessments and open issues lists; ensure timely resolution of action items.
- Track and report project performance metrics such as schedule adherence, cost variance, and earned value.
- Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, progress reviews, and issue resolution.
- Mentor and support project managers and project engineers, promoting professional growth and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of project execution processes, documentation standards, and reporting tools.
- Lead stakeholder alignment efforts and negotiate complex scope or commercial changes with clients.
- Ensure all deliverables meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field.8+ years of experience managing automation, controls, or industrial projects.Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects.Strong understanding of electrical, controls, and mechanical system integration.Demonstrated mastery of project management principles; PMP certification preferred.Skilled in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution.Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, ERP systems).Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with regular visits to fabrication shops and client sites.Travel up to 10-15% for site meetings and project oversight.PPE required in shop and field environments.
