Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36 or 48 hours (travel nurse contract options)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,780 - $1,910

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Orientation : Every other Monday

Weekend Requirement : 2 out of 3 weekends per month (per unit needs)

Holiday Requirement : Must be able to work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Travel RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Intermediate Care, Cardiac Stepdown, or related specialty

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State

BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIH Stroke Scale certification

Charge nurse experience preferred

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Submit all requested time off with application

Ability to foster a supportive teaching environment with students and new hires

Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients

Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage IVs

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on care and recovery

Support a positive learning environment for students and new hires

Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR

Comply with all hospital policies and procedures
