The cashier provides fast and friendly service to customers, assists them with questions and request. Operates a cash register and the duties which correspond. Package product, work with drive-up and / or carry-out. Replenishes product as needed.

Reporting relations include accountability to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of GM, Perishables, and Store Operations; Service Managers. There are no positions that report to you.

Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, smiling and greeting customers in a friendly manner, assisting customers, operating cash register accurately, redeeming promotional coupons, food stamps, WIC checks, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include assisting store management, knowing code dates on perishable items, changing register tape and ribbons, assisting in other areas of store, and performing other job related duties and special projects.

Knowledge, skills, abilities and worker characteristics include the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions, do arithmetic calculations, understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, request supplies verbally or in writing.

Education and experience requirements include no education or experience required.

Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently, visual requirements, and the ability to perform various physical activities.

Working conditions include exposure to temperature extremes, possible dampness, equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and exposure to chemicals and solvents. This is a fast paced work environment.

Equipment used to perform job includes pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, fork lift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax.
