Structural Designer Job at Selectek in Roswell

Selectek has an immediate need for a Structural Designer  with an industrial background. The focus of the role will be to design industrial structures typically found with piping systems. This will include structural steel, elevations, platforms, beams, and foundations. The role will assist in creating project scopes, schedules, and budgets for design related tasks.

Essential Job Functions

Prepare and revise project drawings for review by the Project Engineer :

Foundation plans and details

Structural steel plans, erection and fabrication details

Accountable for electronic version control, standards, and delivery of structural project drawings.

Review of Vendor prints, mechanical equipment, and building foundations to ensure proper fit.

Attend and participate in peer drawing design reviews (QA / QC).

Implement good design practices and follow company, industry and client design standards.

Update drawings to field “As-Built” conditions from redlines and engineering change notices.

Develop and maintain standard designs and templates for foundations and steel structures.

Be proactive in coordinating design issues with clients, vendors, and other disciplines.

Required :

3+ years of industrial structural steel design experience.

AutoCAD ProficiencyÂ

Clear understanding of steel sections, beams, sizing, calculation of weights, design, layout and drafting.

Preferred :

AutoCAD Plant 3D or Autodesk Advanced Steel proficiency

Job order details :

This person will work closely with the engineers to ensure all the structural drawings are produced correctly. Sponsorship : Â Not ideal but they may consider it

Pay range : Â $27 / hour - $32 / hour ($56,000 - $68,000 annual salary)

Term of assignment : Â 6 months temp to perm

Pay method when direct : Â Salary no OT

Location of job : Â Alpharetta, GA 30009

Hours and shift :  Monday - Friday 8AM – 5PM (can flex an hour if needed)

Work from home : Â Not in the beginning. Possible to work one or two days from home later.

Working remote : Â No

Overtime expected : Â minimal

Travel : Â Occasionally site visits

Work attire : Â business casual
