Telecommunications System Technician Trainee
This is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended up to 24 months and / or with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Candidate will be working on two-way radio systems on mountain top sites, dispatch centers, vehicles, and handheld radios. This is a training position so they will be training on all items to include tower climbing, off road driving, solar panel systems, generators, and microwave systems.
Under the close supervision of the Telecommunications Systems Operations Supervisor I (TSOS I), the Telecommunications Systems Technician I (TST I) is responsible for responding to and resolving public safety communications problems for State Agency clients. The TST I will also functionally report to assigned shop lead as required.
The TST I will participate in on-the-job training and must also complete an in-house technical training program. The duties are performed by following Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations; utilizing at a minimum, office provided training, complex test equipment, computers, hand tools, the Telecommunications Division Manual (TDM), and technical literature.
Incumbent will communicate effectively on all written and verbal interactions, frequently interfacing with customers and co-workers to resolve issues and collaborate. The TST I will maintain a professional and team centered environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Travel to and working in remote locations, high-elevations, and inclement weather conditions may be required.
